The thing is we're all working in education: we're parents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, doctors, yeah, yeah. But for some of us, there's a paycheck associated with that education duty. As in, "My kid better be learning something in your class."
What's the real story? Are teachers underpaid? Maybe. Undervalued? Certainly. Do you want to tell us what you think? Tell the world? Okay, go.
Got a good story from the trenches? Here's your place to drop it off and let it go.
Do you need to process in the open in the public forum? Go for it. We're here for you.
Got a question or a tough situation that you want some help with? We have the answer, we've seen it all.
We've been teachers, assistants, parents, administrators. And we're still in it. We've done everything from work with parents in pre-natal classes, to work with infants, toddlers, and all the way up through high school students. We keep coming back for more.
I know you had a hard day. Why can't you just tell those parents what to really do?
Did you have an incredible success today with a student? Facebook may not be the place to brag. Those are great friends, but they just don't get how hard it can be. We do.
So share your glory and your guts.
Please, no student or parent names, no school names, and no shenanigans, tomfoolery, or hijinks.
We're paying attention and will not be hoodwinked, bamboozled, or lollygagged. If we consider your post to be rude, outlandish, or just plain lame, we'll yank it.
Now, let's do some good.
